The Story
I learned this recipe from my brother when I came to Sweden, he was studying here and we did it once together. I found how easy it was to make and how amazing it tasted. It also reminds me of home with my family on Ramadan nights.
I don’t like cooking or eating alone. The best thing about cooking and eating is sharing and spending time together talking and having fun while at the same time preparing a nice meal or dessert to eat together and enjoy the rest of the day!
A tip for the Basbousa is to cut it into diamonds so it looks pretty, adjust the syrup quantity according to your preferences so it doesn’t become too sweet. This dish is traditionally cooked in different countries in the Middle east with small differences in the ingredients. But this recipe is the Egyptian way!
