My grandmother made this recipe one Christmas when I was little. Since then it has been my favourite cake. I really love it!
I really appreciate creating memories and sharing special moments with my closest family and friends, preferably while eating tasty food! It makes every week memorable if you take time to gather your loved ones for dinner.
The cake can easily be vegan if you replace the dairy products with vegan options.
1. Mix room temperature butter with sugar.
2. Mix the dry ingredients together, add the butter and sugar, mix alternately with milk.
3. Spread the dough into a baking form with baking paper.
4. Pre-bake in the middle of the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes.
5. For the meringue, whip the egg whites to a stiff foam, add sugar and vanilla sugar.
6. Add the meringue on top of the base, sprinkle almond flakes on top.
7. Bake the cake at 180°C degrees for 15 minutes.
8. Let the cake cool down.
9. Whip the cream, stir with berries and sugar to make the filling.
10. Cut the base into two equal parts, put the bottom part on a serving tray and the top part to the side.
11. Apply the filling to the bottom part, apply the filling, add the other half on top.
