The Story

This is a very traditional Turkish recipe. My mom used to make it for me whenever I visited my hometown, or she visited me. It is one of the meals I ask my mom to make when I’m visiting, and now, my friends ask me to make it for them. I mostly learnt this recipe by watching my mother make it. Thanks, mom! But I’ve also gathered inspiration from a few cookbooks.

In Turkey, it is a go-to choice for an appetiser, a Sunday afternoon snack, or a bite at a get together with family and friends. It’s healthy, fresh and doesn’t feel heavy. It’s easy to make in large quantities and good to share with people. I like how we spend time creating something delicious and enjoying the result together.
